last one today .. I swear

I have discovered that I can think of more things to post about when I have a hang-over.... Interesting.

grandma's rings

My grandfather passed away last December it has been very hard on my grandma. I noticed over Thanksgiving that on her wedding finger she was not only wearing her wedding bands but his as well. This caused me to have to hide a cry my eyes out for a good ten minutes. She looked so frail and lonely without him.

isn't it ironic ... or is it

I think that the word ironic is terribly over used. Today I heard the song "Ironic" by Alanis Morissette and it reminded me of a conversation with my brother on the subject of irony. Basically nothing in the song is a correct example of irony.

It's like rain on your wedding day - not irony
It's a free ride when you've already paid - not irony
It's the good advice that you just didn't take - not irony
A traffic jam when you're already late - not irony
A no-smoking sign on your cigarette break - not irony
It's like ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife - not irony
It's meeting the man of my dreams
And then meeting his beautiful wife - and, you guessed it not irony

Things that suck and things that are coincidental are not necessarily ironic.

Good examples of irony are:

A diabetic who is desperately seeking insulin crosses the street and is run over by a truck carrying insulin.

You break a date with your girlfriend so you can go to the ball game with the guys. When you go to the concession stand, you run into her on a date with another guy.

A seal is rescued from an oil spill, much care and money are spent to rehabilitate the animal, one minute after the seal is released back into the ocean it is eaten by a whale.

A psychology student rents out her spare room to a carpenter in order to nag him constantly and study his reactions. After weeks of needling, he snapped and beat her repeatedly with an axe, leaving her mentally retarded.

Iraqi terrorist Khay Rahnajet didn't pay enough postage on a letter bomb. It came back with "return to sender" stamped on it. Forgetting it was the bomb, he opened it and was blown to bits.

Jamaica Mon

I am getting very excited about my Jamaican vacation!! Here are some pictures of the resort I will be staying in.

It's pink... how fun!

If any of you poor souls that cannot come with me would like a postcard, feel free to leave your address in the comments box. Suckers!!

BW

I have come to realize that I am a blog whore. Yesterday I read a very interesting blog that sportlised.com talked about from start to finish. Seriously from START to FINISH ... people I am AT WORK!!!! Another blog that I cannot keep myself from thinking about and reading obsessively is Oblivio (also found from sportlisted.com). I know that I have mentioned before that I sometimes sit on the blogger home page and click on random sites that have been recently updated. If I really like a site that I see on blogger I save it to my favorites and then check it periodically. I think that I am going to end up starting Blogger Anonymous; I can't be the only one with this problem.

dear friends

It has taken a moment for it to sink in that my friends have come and gone. Now that the sobbing has subsided I have decided to post.

Dear AZ,

You are wonderful in far more ways than you know or have yet to understand. Your inner and outer beauty struck a cord with me this visit.

Dear MJM,

I did not know how much I missed you until I saw you again. I look forward in delight to the next time our paths will cross.

I think that it is really funny that my spell check wants to change xoxoxo to Xerox. It gets me every time. You think that you are being all cute and sending some hugs and kisses to someone and then blam! Microsoft Outlook wants you to think about making copies.

haha I just went to spell check this through Blogger and it wanted to change xoxoxo to gooses!! hahah that cracks me up!
