With Teeth

I love music, all kinds of it, I have very diverse tastes including rock, country, gansta' rap, ect .. you name it I probably like it, oh yah except for jazz, I hate jazz.

Anyway, last night I was trying to pin down a favorite band in my head. It took me a really long time but I finally came up with NIN. I realized that I have been a NIN fan since 1989, I was 10 in 1989, 10 people, count 'em 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10. I have loved NIN for 17 years. This got me thinking about other things I have loved since I was 10 and you know what I came up with? NOTHING (except for family, of course). My tastes in food, cars, men, hair styling products, friends, soda, I am talking everything has changed.



So I sit here today and wonder, will I love NIN for the next 17 years? I have all the CD's, been to some concerts, have the T-shirt, I have even been kissed by Trent himself. Man that was pretty much the highlight of my adolescence, I was at a show in Detroit or some crappy place in Michigan, I was probably about 15 or 16 years old, I had to beg my mom for three weeks to get me those tickets, I went with a few guys from school, one of their mom's drove us down, I was in the back stage area and looking for a restroom, and then I saw him the big TR, I just stood there and stared as if he were a god of some sort, this is how the "conversation" went:

TR: Are you lost?
ME: Blank stare... mouth not working.
TR: Are you okay?
ME: duhhhhhhh ...
TR: Okay I gotta go, have a good time ...

And then the best thing ever happened, he leaned down and kissed me on the cheek, like a father would to a daughter, it was not HOT or romantic, it was sweet and I will never forget it.

I am very pleased with my choice for a favorite band, I will be purchasing tickets for the upcoming June 28th show here in Columbus, anyone who wants to go with me let me know asap.
